I have mentioned before how reading other women's blogs can be a tad depressing. Why? It's hard not to realize everything I don't do while I see these amazing blogs. "Today I built a house!" Well- not that intense, but you know what I mean.
When General Conference was over (A world-wide conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints twice a year. The President of the church-The Prophet- and his the 12 Apostles speak on topics they feel are important for us to hear... the text of the conference will be available tomorrow), Ben and I were talking about what we each learned. His first, and smart, response was, "I learned that I need to tell you that I love you more often." Good boy (he actually tells me that a lot already. I didn't think that was something he should have heard!)!! When it was my turn to answer, I remembered Richard G. Scott's remarks about his wife. The way he described her brought tears to my eyes. I want to be described like that! And I know I am NO WHERE near that description.
With all that being said, I think that subconsciously motivated me to be productive today!! My boys and I have been sick all week and weekend, so our house was needing to be cleaned. The dishes were piling up and the laundry was backed up due to a couple loads of just vomit clothes! hooray. Anyway, it's only (or already- depending on what world you live in) 2:30 and the kids are both napping. Because this is the closest thing I have to a journal (I know- another thing to work on), I want to REMEMBER what helped get me motivated... because I know I'll need the reminder tonight, tomorrow, and 10 yrs down the road.
Here is what I've done so far :)
Dishes (Ben helped). But I still have another sink full to get going.
LAUNDRY! Ah- laundry.
The two loads on the top are to do laundry, the dark are the folded, and there is a load in the washer and dryer. I also put the two ALREADY folded clothes of the boys away (not pictured).
ROLLS!
I'm actually most proud of these. Grant helped. We made these for lunch. I thought he may be more inclined to eat his lunch if he made the bread himself. I'll do another post later about that.
While I still have a lot more to do, I'm feeling good about what has been done. I could stop and focus on the things I have NOT done (like shower, put MY clothes away, clean the bathrooms, vacuum the floor, go through things in the garage for a yard sale this weekend... the list never ends).
If you're reading this and need motivation to do ANYTHING on your to do list, here it is! I DID IT (or I'm starting to do it)! That means you can too.
But I'm sure if you're reading this, you are one of the moms I would love to be like :)

Oh wow--you're AMAZING! (The rolls look far tooooo tasty!) I can tell that you haven't been reading my blogs. (They would actually make you feel fantastic about all that you do!) 'Loved your conference recap! (And mail me a roll...please.)
I love conference. It always amazes me that the prophet and apostles can make me want to be better in a loving and motivating way. Truly inspiring!
