iFROG

Last week was a tough, but fun, week. I spent it in Franklin, IN. That's about a 45 mile drive from where I live now. The week was a training week for iFROG (Indiana Facilitator Recourse and Opportunity Group). It was all about challenge courses and learning how to facilitate them. You have all done SOMETHING related to this, I'm sure. You know, "Team Building Activities!" It was pretty remarkable. I had to be OUT THE DOOR before 7am (if ANYONE knows me- they know I don't wake up that early) and then I would drive an hour there and back. I didn't get home till around 5:30 everyday, and I was more tired than I've been in a LONG time. I met around 10 people who really are such amazing people. I feel like I've known all of them for such a long time. That's something I love feeling about people- that you've known them forever. The group of people was pretty diverse. I was there because I want to be working whenever I can at the local Challenge Courses (low ropes or high).  One woman was there because she is in charge of the high school peer mentoring group where she works and she wanted to learn how to use this stuff in her class. Another woman there works as a tobacco prevention specialist at her local schools. The information we learned this week will help her out LIKE CRAZY! The week was full of outdoors, bugs, laughs, laughs, laughs, moments of uncertainty, tons of successes, many failed attempts, and over all, full of great people. I don't think I was planning on enjoying myself as much as I did. But I'm SO GLAD I DID IT! Now I am certified and can work at a bunch of different places here... which is something I have missed since moving from Idaho. The last day of training, we did a high ropes course (I LOVE THOSE!). Here is me just after I did one element blindfolded- about 35 ft in the air!
