Henry's Baby Pics
Our friends, Zak and Victoria, gave us the BEST baby gift- pictures of Henry. I was really excited, because they have such a great eye, and they don't do your typical "baby pictures." So, here are the BEAUTIFUL pictures of Henry that they took. (Alison, I'm looking forward to doing some photo shoots with you... when we can get together next!)

Life with Two
Well, here we are- over 3 weeks later, and I've been a little busy (obviously- no new posts!). Ben's asleep (his ONE AND ONLY FINAL is in the morning) and so is Henry. I can't seem to sleep when Ben falls asleep first (snoring). So here I am, blogging at 2 in the morning.
I am LOVING having two children. It's strange not having Grant as the only child, but it's fun to have someone else in the home. Grant has been doing pretty well. He has only had ONE instance where he got violent, and I'm not even sure it was on purpose (he thew a toy at Henry and me). He isn't aware of Henry when we're holding him and he's asleep, so he'll just try and climb right on top of him! But he's so funny with him. He loves to say, "Dat's baby Henwy!" He's also a bit curious about the nursing thing... which makes me laugh- he was SO not interested when it was his turn :) Henry is awesome as well. At his check up last week, we was up to 6 lbs 14 oz- but that was last week, so maybe he's past 7 pounds by now! He is growing SOO much faster than Grant did, and I'm a little weird-ed out by it. Ben put him in some pjs one night, and when I realized what Henry was wearing, I couldn't believe it. He eats like a champ (something Grant did NOT do), hardly spits up (in comparison with Grant) and he sleeps like a dream. The other day, he did a 7 hour stretch! I woke up, saw what time it was, and was a little freaked out- so I ended up waking him so feed him (mostly because my boobs hurt so much!). But all in all, life is WONDERFUL!
I'd say the only hard part is realizing that people's lives have kept moving while I have been hibernating in my little home. I went to Enrichment Night this past week, and felt so out of it. It is also strange to have people come up to "talk to you" when all they really want to do is look at the tiny baby. Though it's nice to have people look and ooh and ahhh over Henry, I also realize that the majority of these women wouldn't be talking to me if I didn't have a little baby there. I think it just gets a little hard to have my only interaction with humans being that with those 2 yrs old and younger.
BLAH BLAH... here are the ONLY pictures we've taken with the camera lately. I need to glue the camera to my hands so I can document Henry just as much as we did with Grant! ahhh I'll also get videos up soon... I need Ben's help with that. Enjoy :)
Grant in his new little sweater. Don't worry- Henry has a matching one (which I can totally do right now! Grant is just getting into 24 month stuff... it's big- but it works... so they can still get matching things for a little while longer). Grant is such a nerd... but we love him.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANT! Grant turned 2 last week (Nov. 30). His birthday wasn't what I was hoping for, and here's why. Grant got into some "DREFT" Stain Remover for clothes. He tried to do his hair with it, and it got in his eye. Even after a bath, he was bugged with it, and he closed his eyes around noon, and didn't open them until AFTER we ended up in the ER around 9pm. CRAZY day. So- he didn't have any cake, but we did put some candles in some brownies we bought from the store- cause, ya know, I'm an awesome mom :) In this first picture, you can see how irritated his eye got (it's his right one, but on the left).
He got lots of books! That's what he loves :)
Some cool new blocks. I think he likes the little wagon/tray better than the blocks.
And here are a few pictures of Henry. Two of him sleeping peacefully, and one of me waking him up to change his diaper and eat. He's the sweetest little baby :) WE LOVE HIM TOO!!! Maybe THIS week I'll get some pictures of him with his eyes OPEN! He is awake a lot, so it shouldn't be too hard. Hope you enjoyed this blog today :) haha... Until next time...!!Tuesday, November 24, 2009
Quote of the Week
While visiting my parents the last two days, it got a little cold in the house (what's new?!). Ben and Scoobies built a fire to keep us all warm. Grant walked right up to the edge of the hearth and said, "Dat's Beautiful," and continued to be mesmerized by the "beautiful" fire (or "light" as he called it). I have no idea where that came from.

More Pictures for Everyone
Both my kids are napping right now, and I thought I would jump on here and get some pictures posted before I go take a nap myself. Life has been pretty awesome this week. Grant is doing alright, but he's getting better. I can't tell if his attitude, lack of eating, whining is a direct result of Henry's arrival, teething (which we never know about cause he's a really good teeth-er) or because he's recovering from a little cold. But after I took Grant to the mall by myself last night, he has been doing better (he just needed some one on one time). When Henry and I came down the stairs this morning, Grant said, "HEY BUDDY! It's baby Henry!" So, we're doing alright.
Henry had his first check up today, and here are the stats: 6 lbs 7 oz, and apparently 19 3/4" long (yeah right). YEAH... he's perfect. I keep thinking it's all too good to be true, and that I am going to wake up one day and things are going to be HECTIC! Oh well- one day at a time :)
My mom was talking to a lot of people on the phone, and she kept giving out our blog address... so I realized that maybe more pictures would be a good thing (so you have been warned). These are from my mom's camera. Enjoy!!
Here is Henry (before the bath... if you can't tell).
So my mom's camera is nice, but it flashes RIGHT before and during the picture. Out of 5 pictures JUST like this one, this is the ONLY one of me with semi-open eyes. It looks like I WAS drugged up- haha.
I finally just said, "I'm going to look at my son instead of the camera!" I think that was a wise choice.
Right AFTER the bath... Henry and his not-so-black hair (that was/is a shocker to me still).
"I CAN"T HEAR YOU!" He's so cute- Leanne, I think he looks like one of your kids here.
Grandma "Word" (worthen) with Henry. 'Nough Said. wink wink
"WHEN ARE THEY GETTING HOME!?!?!?!" That's what this looks like... but he was probably just wondering if could have more raspberries.
Grant meeting Henry for the first time. I love it.
Our friend Hilary is pretty awesome. Not only did she come over and give us a present for Henry (baby monitor... YEAH!), she brought Grant a gift too!! So Grant is now the proud owner of a Sock Monkey!! He LOVES IT! He was dancing with it, kissing it, and hugging it. He even slept with it last night :)
Ok- I just love this picture :)
Henry loves his dad, and dad loves his Henry.
Grant and Henry giving each other "up tops!" or... "high fives!" cute.
Grant getting a ride from Ben. He was SO hyper last night (as he always gets when he's tired). Grandma bought him some awesome monkey pjs to go with his new Sock Monkey!
When I was pregnant with Grant (and I'm sure all mom-to-be do this), I made a mental list of things I wanted my child to have that were from me, and from Ben. Well, Grant was born with the opposite of everything i wanted! It's horrible, but true. Though I still love (d) EVERYTHING about Grant, it made me laugh. This included Grant's feet. I wanted him to have MY skinny and long feet... instead, he got Ben's fat and short feet :) When we had the u/s of Henry, I was really excited because it looked like our child had my feet... well, Henry has all the traits I dreamed about with Grant- second time's a charm, eh? haha jk (ps... not a good picture of his feet, though).
